講演概要:1990年以来、フィンランドは経済成長を遂げながら、同時にCo2排出量を
36パーセントも削減することに成功しています。すでに電力の90パーセント
以上は非化石燃料由来であり、クリーンエネルギーへの移行が急速に進んでいます。
冬は長く、森林に覆われ、また工業もさかんな国がどのようにこれを達成したか、
その取組みをご紹介します。

We are delighted to welcome the Prime Minister of Finland, Mr. Petteri
Orpo, to Kyoto University on December 12 to deliver a lecture titled
“Increasing climate handprint and proceeding towards Carbon Neutrality
by 2035 – How Finland does it? -” (Sponsored by the International
Strategy Office, Co-sponsored by ILAS).
The lecture is open to all Kyoto University undergraduates and
graduate students.
To attend the lecture, advance registration from the following link is
required (limited to approx.100 students on a first-come-first-served

Outline of the lecture:
Since 1990, Finland has managed to reduce its CO2-emissions by an
impressive 36%, all the while experiencing economic growth.The clean
energy transition progresses fast. Already over 90% of electricity
comes from fossil-free sources. How has a country with long winters,
large forests and heavy industries achieved this?
