We will have ASHBi Seminar with Dr. Eikan Mishima from Helmholtz Zentrum München, Germany, as a lecturer.

Dr. Eikan Mishima conducted various studies at the Department of Nephrology, Rheumatology and Endocrinology, Tohoku University before coming to Helmholtz Zentrum München, where he elucidated the regulatory mechanism of ferroptosis and published his findings in Nature last year. In this paper, Mishima and his colleagues revealed that the fully reduced form of vitamin K has a strong antiferroptotic function in addition to its conventional function in blood coagulation. In this seminar, Dr. Mishima will discuss the latest findings on the regulatory mechanism of ferroptosis.

ドイツ・Helmholtz Zentrum Münchenより三島 英換 博士をお招きし、2023年6月7日にASHBi Seminarを開催します。

三島英換氏は、東北大学腎臓・高血圧内科で様々な研究を実施されたのちにHelmholtz Zentrum Münchenに留学され、ferroptosis の制御機構の一端を解明し、昨年Nature誌に発表しています。この論文で三島氏らは、ビタミンKの完全還元型が、血液凝固に関わる従来の機能に加えて、強い抗フェロプトーシス機能を持つことを明らかにしています。本セミナーでは、ferroptosis の制御機構に関する最新の知見をお話し頂きます。
