社会的処方（Social Prescribing）は、医療・福祉と地域のさまざまな活動や場を橋渡しし、孤立の予防や生活の質の向上、そして一人ひとりのニーズや望みに沿った支援につなげていくアプローチです。英国ではリンクワーカー等が中心となり、本人の関心や状況に合わせて地域の活動につなぐ仕組みが整備され、日本においても、その取り組みが広がりつつあります。社会的処方というコンセプトは主に医療の文脈で発展してきましたが、その仕組みや健康のあり方を文化の視点から捉えなおし、あらためて再構成している取り組みが〈文化的処方〉です。

本シンポジウムは、東京藝術大学に加え、英国で社会的処方を牽引するNASP、SingHealth等と共催で実施いたします。アカデミアのみならず、自治体・企業など、さまざまな方が参加できる会にしたいと考えております。

また、発表の演題も募集しております。研究発表に限らず、NPO、各任意団体、個人、自治体、企業等による場づくりや実践に関する報告も幅広く歓迎しています。

Social prescribing is an approach that supports health and well-being by bridging healthcare and welfare services with a wide range of community-based activities and places. It helps prevent social isolation, improve quality of life, and provide support aligned with each person’s needs and wishes. In the UK, systems led by link workers have been established to connect individuals to community activities based on their interests and circumstances, and similar initiatives are expanding in Japan.

While the concept of social prescribing has developed mainly in healthcare contexts, “cultural prescribing” focuses on rethinking and reconfiguring these systems and our understanding of health through the lens of culture.

ISPC2026 will be co-hosted with Tokyo University of the Arts, the National Academy for Social Prescribing (NASP, UK), SingHealth, and other partners. We aim to create an inclusive conference that welcomes participants not only from academia, but also from local governments, companies, and diverse community stakeholders.

We are currently accepting abstract submissions. Submissions are welcome not only for research presentations, but also for reports on practice and “place-making” initiatives led by NPOs, informal/community groups, individuals, local governments, and companies.

This will be a great opportunity to learn about domestic and international initiatives in social prescribing and cultural prescribing. We warmly encourage you to participate and submit an abstract.
