We will have ASHBi Seminar with Dr.Saumya Agrawal from RIKEN, Japan

Dr Agrawal completed her PhD in 2014 from Massey University in Auckland, New Zealand, where she focused on identifying novel functional elements in the repetitive region of the human genome, known as the nucleolar organizer region. In 2016, Dr Agrawal joined the Laboratory for Applied Computational Genomics lead by Dr. Michiel de Hoon at RIKEN, Japan, as a postdoctoral researcher and became a member of the FANTOM (Functional Annotation of the Mammalian Genome) consortium. As part of the FANTOM6 project, she utilized three-dimensional genome conformation information to identify the targets of non-coding RNAs in different cell types. Her broad research interest is in studying the various cellular components that direct changes in chromatin conformation to better understand cellular responses during different biological processes including disease progression.
