シンガポール国立大学のAshok VENKITARAMAN教授（兼シンガポールがん研究所所長 ＆ A*STAR所長）が、
湊 総長を表敬訪問される機会に、放生研主催のミニシンポジウムを開催させて頂くこととなりました。
VENKITARAMAN教授は、BRCA2がゲノムを安定化／維持して発がんを抑制する機能を持つことを発見し、
BRCAに関するDNA損傷応答研究やがん研究の世界を切り開き、牽引している第一人者です。
多くの皆さまにシンポジウムにお越し頂き、活発なご議論を展開して頂けましたら幸いです。

On the occasion of Prof. Ashok VENKITARAMAN of the National University of Singapore
(who also serves as Director of Singapore Cancer Research Institute and Director of A*STAR)
paying a courtesy visit to President Minato, Radiation Biology Center plans to hold a mini-symposium
on "Cancer Genome Evolution", as follows.
Prof. VENKITARAMAN discovered that BRCA2 maintains genome integrity and suppresses carcinogenesis,
and is a leading scientist in DNA damage response research and cancer research related to BRCA.
I hope that many of you will come to the symposium and have a lively discussion.
