臨床神経学講座では、9月12日（火）に米国ペンシルバニア大学神経変性疾患研究センター（CNDR）のVirginia M. Y. Lee先生をお招きして、彼女のこれまでの研究内容について講演していただくこととなりました。

Lee先生は、これまでにアルツハイマー病におけるタウ、パーキンソン病におけるα-シヌクレイン、前頭側頭葉方認知症／筋委縮側索硬化症におけるTDP-43を見出し、神経変性疾患研究の歴史に数々の金字塔を打ち立ててきました。

今回のセミナーでは、Lee先生のこれまでの研究成果に焦点を当て、特に最近大きな注目を集めている「神経変性疾患におけるタンパク凝集体の脳内伝播」についてお話いただく予定です。

セミナーは京都大学芝蘭会館で開催され、約130名の方々が参加できます。参加費は無料で、事前参加登録も不要ですので、ぜひ多くの方々にご参加いただき、Lee先生の講演をお聴きいただければと思います。

Department of Neurology, Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine is pleased to invite Dr. Virginia M. Y. Lee of the Center for Neurodegenerative Disease Research (CNDR) at the University of Pennsylvania, USA, to give a lecture on her research to date on Tuesday, September 12.

Dr. Lee has discovered tau in Alzheimer's disease, α-synuclein in Parkinson's disease, and TDP-43 in fronto-temporal lobar dementia/myotonic lateral sclerosis, setting numerous milestones in the history of neurodegenerative disease research.

In this seminar, Dr. Lee will discuss the results of her past research. In particular, she will talk about the recent topic of "Brain Propagation of Protein Aggregates in Neurodegenerative Diseases".
