We conduct a practical research aimed at improving surgical outcomes for malignant tumors arising in the gastrointestinal tract and the hepatobiliary and pancreas. We are also engaged in research on organ regeneration to treat organ defects and organ failure caused by cancer treatment.
In addition, our department aims to train the next generation of leaders in the clinical and research fields, and to establish a framework for training future surgeons by disseminating our research results and surgical techniques to medical students and young physicians.
Research and Education
We aim to improve the treatment of patients with malignant tumors of the gastrointestinal tract and hepatobiliary-pancreas, to advance regenerative medicine, and to promote the training of future surgeons and medical leaders.
- Improvement of surgical outcomes for patients with malignant tumors of the gastrointestinal tract and hepatobiliary pancreas.
- Clinical and basic research on organ regeneration.
- Training of future leaders for research and/or clinical practice.
