The Faculty of Medicine of Kyoto University has taken a progressive role in the medical field in the world over 110 years since the foundation of its forerunner, the Medical College of Kyoto Imperial University, in 1899. As a facility to exhibit publicly the precious historical materials which show the fact vividly, we set up the Museum of the Faculty of Medicine thanks to your warmhearted donation.

This Museum was set up on repairing the former anatomical auditorium which had been built in 1902 using the space which had been its preparation room. The building itself is so precious that it is designated as a historical building of Kyoto University.

We would like to open the Museum not only to the students and the graduates but also to the public and to preserve it so that we can pass the history of the Faculty of Medicine of Kyoto University down to future generations. We are deeply grateful to you for your warmhearted support.
