We would like to formally announce the launch of “Kyoto University-UCSD/CNT Seminar Series” which are co-hosted by Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine, University of California, San Diego (UC San Diego) Moores Cancer Center, and the Center for Novel Therapeutics. As a part of our on-site laboratory, Kyoto University Research Center San Diego (KURC-SD), we plan to alternately invite one guest speaker from Kyoto University and UC San Diego to hold a series of online seminars on a regular basis.
For the eighth meeting, we have invited Christopher Glass, M.D., Ph.D., Distinguished Professor, Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Distinguished Professor, Department of Medicine, School of Medicine, University of California, San Diego, as a guest speaker. We look forward to your participation.

Dr. Christopher Glass is a biophysicist, holding the titles of Distinguished Professor of Cellular and Molecular Medicine and Distinguished Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego. He works on molecular mechanisms that control macrophage functions in health and disease. He is particularly known for elucidating roles of nuclear hormone receptors and other signal-dependent transcription factors in controlling pathogenic programs of macrophage gene expression that contribute to atherosclerosis, diabetes and neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Glass is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the National Academy of Medicine, and the National Academy of Sciences.
