KU-UCSD/CNT Seminar #6: Event Announcement

We would like to formally announce the launch of “Kyoto University-UCSD/CNT Seminar Series” which are co-hosted by Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine, University of California, San Diego (UC San Diego) Moores Cancer Center, and the Center for Novel Therapeutics. As a part of our on-site laboratory, Kyoto University Research Center San Diego (KURC-SD), we plan to alternately invite one guest speaker from Kyoto University and UC San Diego to hold a series of online seminars on a regular basis.
For the sixth meeting, we have invited Ananda W. Goldrath, Ph.D., Professor, Molecular Biology, Division of Biological Sciences, University of California, San Diego as a guest speaker. We look forward to your participation.

Date and Brief Agenda
Mar 19, 2021 (Fri) (Kyoto):
– 9:00~  9:45am “Transcriptional programming of T Cell immunity to infections and tumors”
– 9:45~10:00am Q&A

*Mar 18, 2021(Thu) (San Diego):
– 5:00~5:45pm “Transcriptional programming of T Cell immunity to infections and tumors”
– 5:45~6:00pm Q&A

Guest Speaker
Ananda W. Goldrath, Ph.D., Professor, Molecular Biology, Division of Biological Sciences, University of California, San Diego

Dr. Ananda Goldrath is a Professor in the Molecular Biology Section in the Division of Biology at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). In 2011 Ananda was named a Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Scholar, and in 2007 she was named a Pew Scholar. She is also a recipient of the Cancer Research Institute New Investigator Award, V Scholar Award and the Julia Brown Faculty Fellowship.
The goal of her research is to understand how CD8+ T cell immunological memory is generated and maintained by identifying the transcriptional and signaling events that regulate the survival and differentiation of T cells as they navigate the immune response and become long-lived memory T cells.
